  1. Putting a laptop to sleep occasionally has no side-effects, except maybe a slower-performing computer, but after a reboot it will be returned back to normal performance.

Now for the laptop, I myself are an extremely heavy user, if you are into full on extreme performance, you may want to look at one of the Dell XPS M1730's, or one of the Alienware 17" notebooks. I am currently using a Toshiba P300/Q01, its doing me fine, im playing GTA:SA, Race Driver GRID, had 170 Firefox tabs open, just to test your likeness, am downloading software off uTorrent, and has lasted me 2 months (I only bought it not long ago, my last Toshiba Laptop lasted me 2 years, its still alive, just alot slower).

    Specs for Heavy Gaming:

    - 2.5Ghz T9300 (Core 2 Duo) + or a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Quad (I would recommend a Core 2 Extreme, they perform exceptionally well)

    - 256MB 8800M GTS in SLi, or a ATi Radeon HD 3650 (512MB, Pixel shader 4.1) or higher

    - 500GB w/ 5400-7200RPM Hard Drive

    - Definitely 17" laptop if you are a hardcore gamer.

    - Nice and loud speakers.

    - 3GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM for 32-Bit systems, and 4GB for 64-Bit

And the looks and price should be up to you!

  2. hi i always use power saving/hibernation at home works very well, always nice to have a complete reboot every now and then to close all apps down properly, more on power saving below, as for the laptop your looking for only one possibility if you have the cash Alienware
