Question:

Putting up address on stucco walls?

Our home is finished in stucco on the outside and I know stucco can be quite fragile -- you can't really put nails into it and using screws can be a bit "dodgy". I have to put up our address, so I was considering using a wooden plaque to s***w the numbers to and then mounting that plaque on the stucco using an adhesive. Any recommendations / suggestions or ideas?

  1. maybe numbers on your door is more tenable and less of a headache

  2. Custom order a sign that you can put in the yard. They have all colors and styles so you are sure to find something to fit your house.

  3. You could paint them on.  Go to a hardware store or craft store and pick up some number stencils along with the color paint you would like to have.  That way it would be easy to change the location or the color of your address if you wanted and you wouldn't have to worry about damaging the stucco.

  4. Ornate black iron address sign in the yard.

Attach to your mailbox (you can get numbered stickers for this purpose or hang a chain on the wooden plaque and hook underneath the mailbox ).

What about some cool individual ornate numbers on your

    front door or fence.

Stencil the address with paint on a huge rock in your landscape.

I have also seen addresses carved and painted on a tree stump.

  5. That's a good idea, but use weather-proof materials for the numbers and base.   Soon as you want to replace it the adhesive might pull off chunks of stucco.

A good quick-grip adhesive is Goop (Lowes $2.98)
