Question:

Putting up curtains?

Hi, I've just put up curtains and I have 2 questions.

1. The glide hooks are a little too big, so some of them fall off the curtains. Would popping a bit of blue tack on the bottom of each glide hook do the trick, as we live absolutely miles away from DIY shop?

2. We need something to stop the curtains sliding off the end of the rail. Is there any household way of doing this, without buying special stoppers?

Thanks

  1. When was you next thinking of traveling the hundreds of miles to your local DIY store ? Can't you just wait a couple of days, spend £5-£10 & carry out a more professional repair to rectify your problem ?!

  2. Dont put blue tack on the hooks as that wont allow them to slide. - the only way that I can see is that you will have to buy some smaller hooks.  They have to be able to slide dont they - so if theyre too big they are going to slide off but if you hinder the slide they wont - if you know what I mean!

If you dont want to buy special end pieces you could always use elastic bands.

I think you have a trip to the diy store coming up!

Isnt there a hardware shop nearer to you in a village or something because they always carry this sort of thing - you dont have to go to one of the big diy places.

  3. well if theyre as good as my recenty parted beef curtains theyre as good as new

  4. I HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH HOOKS AND JUST MADE MY OWN.HAVE YOU ANY THIN  WIRE THE KIND YOU HANG CHRISTMAS BAUBLES ON THE TREE WITH?CUT  TO SIZE ,LOOP THROUGH THE THE TOP OF THE CURTAIN AND WRAP  ROUND THE RAIL,IT MIGHT SEE YOU THROUGH FOR NOW .GOOD LUCK!
