about a month ago, I just wanted to let you know that after a few weeks of him crying, then a few days of him not crying, today he walked right in and didn't even look back. I was so proud of him. He really loves "Miss Sophia" (that's his daycare provider's name). Within a space of one month, she got him to do so many things that I thought he wasn't ready for. Chosing the right daycare can really do wonder for a child. A few day when I sneaked in, he was laughing and dancing.

I know this is not a question, I just wanted to ease the minds of those who think it would be impossible to put their child in daycare after having them home for such a long time. By the way my son is 16month old.

  1. I'm so glad your son is doing well!  So many people think if your child is in daycare, they are going to sit in dirty diapers and starve to death!  My daughter is also 16 months and has been attending daycare since 10 months of age.  She absolutely loves it and we have a great relationship with her care providers and regular communication.  She had some special needs regarding her health at the beginning, and they were absolutely wonderful!!!  I could not have got through that period without their support.

It's so important to do your research carefully and find a centre/sitter that is right for you, and your instincts are usually right.  High quality child care has been proven to be very beneficial for children's development, and children who attend child care do much better in kindergarden / junior kindergarden.

You must be feeling SOOO much better knowing that your son is happy and thriving at daycare!

  2. That is great to hear I am very happy for you.  It does make a big diffrence i have found when you find a good day carae one that you can trust and your kids like.
