The Spanish centre-back has spoken about his coach, Tito Vilanova, who was recently diagnosed with cancer again and the Catalan captain has offered his support for him.
The Catalan coach, Tito Vilanova, was diagnosed with cancer once again and the Barcelona captain, Carles Puyol, recently spoke about him and told the press how it is a big knock for his team.
This season La Blaugrana have been performing phenomenally and while there were many critics who suggested that the departure of Josep Guardiola will cost the former Champions a lot, Tito Vilanova was able to prove them all wrong.
As soon as this season started, the Spanish giants lost the Spanish Super Cup against their bitter rivals, Real Madrid. However, Vilanova was able to pick up pace with his team and since then he has not lost a single game in the Spanish La Liga.
The start taken under the Catalan coach is the best in not only the history of the club, but also in the history of the Spanish La Liga.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 have only dropped two points, and they were dropped when they drew the match 2-2 against their arch-rivals, Los Blancos.
However, while Barcelona have been performing phenomenally under their new coach, they will now be playing without him on the sidelines as he was diagnosed with cancer for the second time.
While speaking about Tito Vilanova and how the team is going to cope with the loss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carles-Puyol-c8331 said:
“Today the squad is more animated. Yesterday we had a chat with him and that encouraged us. The message we have heard is that everything went well.”
“It was a hard knock. As Zubi said it was right in the jaw. We have to get up and keep fighting. The team has always done this and will do now.”
“This is a very responsible team. We shall maintain our level, train to our best and keep going. We hope to keep winning. The best way that the team can help is to stay the same and progress in our matches.”
Barcelona were recently drawn against the Italian giants, AC Milan, in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
