Puzzled by some answers?

I have noticed that some answerers claim to have put considerable effort into researching global warming and come up with the statement that the arguments of those who assert that it is a hoax are more believable. How can that be?

Because it IS a hoax.   The Earth is warming up but not due to the reasons the Global Warming crowd would have you believe.

Because people exaggerate the effects of global warming. It is true that it is happening, but when you blame every hurricane, tsunami, earthquake etc on global warming, people are bound to get cynical. The media are mostly to blame, it is lazy journalism.

Okay, lets get this straight once and for all!!

We have an approximate life span of 70 some years...

We may see the end of the world during this or we may not

It has happened before and this can be proved...

What cannot be proved is speculation where when and how...it will happen again.

20 odd years ago.... the news was full of the FACT that there would not be enough space on the planet by NOW  and yes it is getting crowded, but there is still space,  and the almighty throws a card in making space with horrors that kill hundreds at a time....

The doom and gloom merchants, sell misery ... and worry ... to stop us minions enjoying life...

Get the one with the Loudest Mouth to Actually live as he / she is telling us too  then I may believe him...

I believe in the fact that what will be will be  and greed is the thing that is wrong,  toooooo many people have tooooo much leaving toooooo many people with tooooooooooooooooooo little..............

its a hoax which is using possibility to justify itself.

I'm not worried about that anymore.

2012 will sort that out.

Global floods will wipe out most of the population, so warming up a bit really is just political spin. If we wern't so concerned about GW, we may start to panic about it instead - which is no good for the government.

For those who haven't heard -

Jupiter, Mars and Pluto are also warming up at the same rate -this is not due to any CO2.

Sweden is filling a seed Ark of the worlds seeds high in the mountains.

The Antarctic telescope has been watching a planet head this way since 1987 - and doesn't say much.

Norway have been tunneling underground for years - as have many countries.

- Even Tom Cruise is building his own!

The US is sorting logistics for crowd movement and containment.

Countless calendars and religious texts point to 2012.

Look at who is funding that research. Last year it was revealed that Oil Companies had spent millions funding 'research' about the environment. All of that research happened to be in agreement that if there was global warming it was not due to human activity.

Most of the whack jobs and pseudo "doctors of science" on this site leave abundant web addresses as proof of their extensive research! Part of research is finding out who is writing this and why are they writing it. Dr. Gore and and his Nobel peace prize winning invention, has produced a lot of money if you haven't noticed! FOLLOW THE MONEY, it's moving over to the whack jobs. Even the Republicans are starting to follow it.  It is refreshing however to see Dana, "master of science", finally coming around to the more acceptable truth. That GW is a red herring !

Because they already made their minds up. If you're driven by an ideological agenda then your likely to look for and like a few statements you agree with and discount the many more that you disagree with.

They need to believe it - either so they can continue burning up the planet, or because they have a vested and financial interest in it.  Just like the tobacco companies, the oil companies subside the denial of global warming - they are making so much money, so they want us to carry on as we are

I know what you mean - whenever somebody says "the more research I do, the more I think global warming is a hoax", I always do a double-take.  'How can that be possible?', I think to myself.

But then look at the kinds of arguments these same people make when they expand on their "research".  Things like "climate has changed in the past" or "temperature correlates well with solar activity in the past".

These are statements that anybody who has done any significant amount of research would respond to by saying "yeah, no duh.  And?"  But taken by themselves, these statements indicate that generally global warming is natural (after all, it has been in the past!).

So basically what I translate these people as really saying is "I've done a little bit of research, and the little research I've done suggests that climate change was natural in the past, so why wouldn't it be natural now?".  If they take the time to research the modern data rather than just looking at the past, they'll realize that the current warming is not natural.

There is a difference between pollution and global warming.  Pollution that is harming our air and our oceans is not the same as C02 global warming.  I am an environmentalist who hates the pollution that we are putting in our air and water but do not believe that C02 output is causing global warming.  

If you really look at data collected from ice core samples you will see that C02 was present in much higher quantities well before we were filling up at the gas stations.  The earth cycles from hot and cold based upon solar flares and undersea volcanic activity, our angle toward the sun and other reasons that we may not have discovered yet.  Right now we have been warming for 17-18,000 years so yes we are still warming from the last ice age but you can't blame that on us.  

I think we all like to feel more powerful than we are with regard to mother nature.  She has a way of getting her way no matter what we do or think we have control of.  We will easily go extinct and kill ourselves with pollution and chemicals and weapons before global warming will kill us.

But don't listen to me, research it yourself, and not the research that just looks at magazine articles that conclude something from data.  Anyone can manipulate data to make it conclude what they want.

Truth is, we are killing the planet with an ever increasing population and pollution and it needs to be corrected as soon as possible.

People also used to think smoking had no harmful effects.

If you think about it logically, it amounts to the same thing except its not a cigarette to a person, its people to the world.

Seriously--these people don''t know anything about science--or research. That's obvious.  And--also seriously--mos of them really do think surfing the net to find a hit-or-mis collection of websites (that make claims global warming is false_ constitutes research.    I doubt any of them ahave ever read an aarticle in a real scientific journal--or  even know the difference betweenthat  and the fluff they cite for "sourcces."
