  1. You need to use primer on each joint let it dry then pvc glue and let dry good before running water.

  2. PVC pipe is white in color ...to join PVC pipe together u need a cleaner and a glue....the cleaner is purple in color...swab it on the outside of the pipe and the inside of the fitting....when dry swab on the glue   (clear in color ) to the outside of the pipe and to the inside of the fitting....push the pipe into the fitting and gave a quarter turn

ABS pipe is black in color and just needs a glue to join it together.....no cleaner is needed....I add glue to the pipe and fitting and turn the pipe as u push it together

  3. Did you use the cleaner-solvent, before you put on the glue?  I know their are different types of PVC, is your glue the right type? You might try going to a plummer supply store and showing them what your trying to do...maybe they can tell you whats going on.

  4. You need to use primer then glue.

  5. No, but you have to install correctly and then let it set before you pressurize the system. The joints (both the outside of the pipe and the inside of the socket you are putting together) need to be clean and free of any dirt or oils. Make sure your cuts on the pipe are square, this gives you the maximum amount of surface contact for the joint. The use of a primer will help the success of the joint. Apply a generous amount of glue to the outside of the pipe AND the inside of the socket. Press the two pieces together until the pipe has seated against the stop iin the socket. Twist the pieces at least 1/2 turn to spread the glue and help remove any air bubbles. Hold pressure on the joint for at least 1 minute. Do not do any additional work on the pipe with the joint that may cause the joint to pull apart for at least 15 minutes.

  6. I always use the "blue" pipe cement. It will set under water. Be sure and cut the pipes square and push it all the way in to the fitting after giving both the pipe and the fitting a coat of cement.

I generally wipe the pipe with fine sandpaper first and I have had very few problems with leaks. Twist the pipe 1/4 turn or so when putting it together and hold it in place for 10 seconds like the instructions say. Use plenty of cement, it doesn't cost much and it flows thin so it wont clog anything.

    Good luck

  7. For PVC you should use primer (often purple colored) on both sides of the joint, let it dry.

Then take PVC glue and apply it to both sides of the joint and immediately connect the joint, hold it for a few seconds, then move on to the next joint.

As long as you are using the right glue on the right pipe, they shouldn't leak.  At this point, if you can pull the joints apart and re-do, you might be OK.

If you can't pull the joints apart, you will likely have to start over with new pipe.
