my parents just bought a pyrex tuperware? thing that is made out of glass. on the box, it says taht it is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. but when u cook with it, are harmful cancer causing "things" come out and take over the food? like do the germs go into the food or osmething? i need an honest answer since i have to tell my parents this. lol. so yea. if you have a source, please list that and dont just put what u think. i would really appreciate it if you would research a little and help me find the page that states the germ facts and if the waves from the microwave trigger harmful germs to come out of the product.

  1. Your question, as written, made so little sense that it took me several minutes to even read it, and a few more to make a good guess as to what you're asking.

Glass is impervious, therefore cannot harbour 'germs', or anything else, so they or it cannot come out of the glass and into the food. That is why glass is used in laboratories where it's important to have no contamination. You may be thinking of plastic, which has been said to release harmful chemicals when heated.

  2. We have used Pyrex stuff for more years than I can remember, both in the microwave and otherwise.

Pyrex is just a special glass.  No germ could live inside it, and none could get out if they wanted to.  Any germs would be on the outside of the Pyrex, just as they would with any other container.

You have nothing to worry about.
