Have you seen this horse run? I did and he has an extra gear. I think it was the Louisiana Derby. He has the speed and distance. Any other contenders out there? I don't think this horse will be beat he has too much heart, He's definitely an Alpha horse. Who can beat him? Your favorite?.

  1. Actually Jeff, that was the Risen Star Stakes & yes, Pyro was outstanding that race. The jock never showed him the stick. He was actually patting the horse's neck about 70 yards from the wire ! Of course, the early favorite is still War Pass. This horse needs the front end & has awesome speed. If left alone on the lead, he will not be caught.

As for some of the other contenders, I like Blackberry Road. He was 5th in the Risen Star, but had to checked hard down the lane & stil gathered himself & finished strong. Also, Court Vision ran a great 3rd this past Sunday in the Fountain of Youth. They were going so slow early in the race & the leaders just distanced themselves from the rest of the field. Court Vision was dead last at the top of the stretch & finished 3rd & still closing on the leaders.

Also, if you go to www.fullcardreports.com you get to see all the Derby contenders & videos of their last 2 races.

    Hope this helps you Jeff.

  2. I love Pyro too.War Pass is also a good contender but they say since his sire was a champion sprinter, the longer distances might betray him. GO PYRO!!!

  3. I love "Pyro".I hope he stays healthy and wins lots of races.I have seen him run and he is amazing!!  In horse racing,  there are always good competitors and I am sure he will be facing stiff competition in his upcoming races, but if he has luck and good trips, anything is possible!!

  4. I like Pyro too but hes going to have to look out for War Pass

  5. War Pass, Pyro, and Indian Blessing are all on my favorite list this year.

Yes, I know Indian Blessing is a filly, but she sure has a huge heart. I believe that if she wins all her next prep races... she could be a legitimate Derby contender...

Now, Pyro and War Pass. I love them both. So far I like War Pass better. Since his 3yo debut, he has changed; for the good. I think he has realized what he is out on that track for and what he needs to do. And I also think he has a great heart with lots of speed and courage.

Then along with Pyro. He is also a wonderful colt. He has so much stamina and knows he needs to win. Though he might not win TO often... he knows that he must and he tries his hardest. He too has a big heart with much courage and strength.

But still... War Pass is my favorite so far. But Pyro and Indian Blessing are right behind him!
