    Ratio of opposite side of the angle to the hypotenuse = sine of the angle

    Ratio of adjacent side of the angle to the hypotenuse = cosine of the angle

    Ratio of opposite side of the angle to the adjacent side = tangent of the angle

    OTHER RATIOS --

    cosecant of an angle (abbreviated csc) = reciprocal of sine

    secant of an angle (abbreviated sec) = reciprocal of cosine

    cotangent of an angle (abbreviated cot) = reciprocal of tangent
