Q About Dish Network?

How much would it cost to have someone come out to chop a few branches from a tree down to Open up a view of the sky for Dish network? I am tired of cable and I want Dish? When Dish came out the first time they told me I could have a few branches chopped down and then it would work? Is this something I can do myself? or is it cheaper to have a professional do it? Just wondering thanks.

  1. Find a guy that does it on the side or advertises in your local thrift newspaper. If the branches aren't over something that could be destroyed if they aren't properly tied when cut then use someone cheap. Otherwise, find someone licensed and insured (which = more $$$)

  2. Tree or no tree, you're doing a big mistake getting Dish Network. It is a lot of frustration and does not work most of the time. Storms, rain, wind all lead to lost of satellite signal. I live in South Florida and mine is so screwed up by our stormy summer that I haven't got TV for the last 7 days. Customer Service was no help over the phone and offered to send a technician for $29.99.

I refused and I am just learning to live without TV as I will not renew my contract at the end.

But just don't take my opinion, you can see a LOT more unsatisfied customers at the following http://www.rateitall.com/i-26677-dish-ne...

  3. Have  Dish Network professional installed they will place the satellite in the proper place.

  4. It is definitely not "cheaper" to have someone do it; proper tree removal or pruning services can be expensive.

It is however safer. Climbing up a tree with a saw and little experience can lead to some serious injuries, so evaluate your abilities and experience before trying this yourself.

Best to get some local tree pruning/removal service companies come out to give you a quote; get at least 2-3 quotes before you decide anything.
