if i have 3 laptops, 1 desktop and a ps3. how many megabytes would i need in my broadband package, as well as a wireless router?

  1. It depends on your budget, but any cable company package will work.  You definitely will need a wireless router with that may devices to make things easier. As far as a number of megabits(not megabytes in measuring bandwidth) 1-2 Mbps(Megabits per second) minimum is fine.  Cable usually has 5-12 Mbps  available depending on your provider and location.  DSL is pretty much the same but tends to be more expensive depending on the speed you want.


  2. It doesn't really matter how many computers or machines you have, more importantly you need to figure out how much bandwidth you will be using.

    The simplest answer is get as much as you can afford, the faster the better.  Any home router will do, just make sure to read the user reviews before you buy one.
