  1. I agree with <ardi-drui> . It is best to stick with previously written spells before trying to write one of your own. You should have no problem finding something at least similar to what you are looking for that you could modify a little.

That is also why some choose to work in groups or covens, and in organized Pagan communities (ie: Wicca). The groups provide some spells and even mentors.

Remember, though you want to be be specific about what it is you want to change, make sure to be flexible about how the spell will succeed and avoid wording something so that it becomes "dark" magic (ie: harmful to others, forcing others to do something against their will: YES "...prosperity" NOT "...the Johnson contract so I can have prosperity."_ YES "...to find my mate" NO "...to make Steve love me.")

  2. Greetings!

Take a Wicca 101 course before you do anything.

It`s just like baking a cake-if you don`t know what, how, when, it WILL be a disaster.

Or, it`s like Flying-don`t jump off a cliff before you learn how others do it.(don`t jump off a cliff!)

On-line is nice, but you don`t get the interaction you need, and Wiccan books are always good-read at least 10 before you even decide if this is the Path for you, read at least 20 more before you start "doing things".

Most people just follow Rites by rote-there is a reason for this.

    /!\

  3. I really agree with Practicing Witch (the person..)

but I do want to add

creativity will flow naturally once your in the alpha state of mind

Just relax and do a little research beofre hand, then hop to it.

Meditation is a witches best friend.

  4. There are books out there that tell you how to write spells. Many starting witchcraft books will tell you.

  5. try a spell book. they even have some on-line.

  6. Use your imagination, but also, be practical.  Say I was going to create a spell to remove an obstacle from my life...looking just to either side of me on my desk to see what I have at hand right this moment that I could use as a tool to help me focus on that intent - I see a staple remover - perfect.  You don't need all kinds of fancy ingredients - you can use whatever works for you in helping to focus your intent.

Spells don't have to be elaborate and wordy, they don't have to rhyme and be all "pretty" to work.  Remember that the driving force behind the spell is the energy you raise and direct with your will and your intent.  Everything else is just a tool that helps you focus on your goal in order to direct that energy to it, and that includes the words.

The more you practice, and the more you study magic, spellcraft, correspondences, etc., the easier it will be for you to create your own spells.  Regular meditation is a key ingredient as well, as this opens your subconscious mind, and will also help you develop your creativity.

Here are some websites that may help you as well:

  7. Like others have said their are books to help beginners.

    the main thing is to

sit down and figer out what the spell is for

    the reason or intent

time line of when you hope for it to happen.

which god/goddess you wish to ask to help you

what kind of circle you need to cast spell

    moon phases ect
