  1. witch one is more important to you that you have put a lot of time and effort into and love to do more. Now as a volleyball coach myself missing two games and practices is huge not only for the coach but for your teamates as well. so its a matter of principle witch do you see yourself doing more of in the future.

  2. Before tryouts, I let the girls know that they have 4 priorities during volleyball season....in this order:

    1. Family

    2. School

    3. Volleyball

    4. Anything else

  3. If I were the coach, I would want teammates that are dependable.  If you practice with a certain player and then that player isn't there for the games, then it can throw things off.  You need to decide what you would rather be doing....volleyball or music.  It would be a hard choice for me as I have a love for both, but be loyal to one or the other.  Good luck!

  4. i think it depends on if u have a good assistant coach to back u up when your gone. i also think that if u explain to your team that u have some other commitments and that it wont take up 2 much of your time and their time, that they will understand.

  5. If you are on a competivie team....then it is unacceptable to miss so many practices and games....those are the times that they need you to play...it also seems like you are stretching yourself too thin!!!

  6. Where I coach I would not be able to excuse you.  You would have to be excused by the Divisional Head, or the Athletic Director - otherwise it's a cut.  Three cuts you're off the team.

If you followed the proper channels and got excused it would be okay, but I wouldn't like it.  You would have to make up for it at the other games and practices.  You would have to prove that you deserved to be excused.

But, I would never play you if you had missed the previous practice.

  7. I guess I would look at what is more important to you.  Where does your commitment lie?  A coach isn't going to like you missing anything.  I know I wouldn't - no matter what it was for (short of a death in the family or health reasons).

I think you really need to examine what is more important to you.  I am sure you like and enjoy everything you do; but there is a such thing as having too much on your plate.  If things are beginning to conflict, then it is time to choose one or the other.

I am just amazed - MISS SECTIONALS????
