Since the initial velocity is horizontal (I think, the problem isn't worded too awesomely), it will have no effect on the time it takes to fall.

∆x = vt + (1/2)at²

∆x = 5ft

v = 0 ft/s (vertical)

a = 32.2 ft/s

5 = (1/2)(32.2)t²

t = √[ 5 / (1/2)(32.2) ]

t = 0.56s
