  1. Sounds like you already have been.

  2. Q4 of the calendar year would be Oct-Dec.  Many companies have fiscal years (the period of time during which they do financial reports) that are different from calendar year.  A fiscal year might run from March to February, in which case Q4 would be Dec-Feb.  So, maybe your "something" is being released in the company's fiscal Q4.  Note: You can look up their fiscal year on Yahoo Finance; enter the company's name in search, and then go to Financial Reports, Balance Sheet, and see what the date is.  That date will be the last date of their year.

Or maybe the company is releasing something early, like when automobile manufacturers sell their 2009 models in August.

  3. In business terms Q4 would be January - March as the financial year starts in April.

    Quarter 1 = April - June

    Quarter 2 = July - September

    Quarter 3 = October - December

    Quarter 4 = January - March

I suppose outwith work we would be in Q3 at the moment (since we start the year in January) so the something getting released could be anytime from October onwards.

  4. Depends where you are, but I would have thought 4th quarter was literally the months October-December.
