QB Andrew Luck’s 433 record performance leads Indianapolis Colts to win vs Miami Dolphins – Recap
A record performance by very talented Andrew Luck in front the Indianapolis Colts’ coach Chuck Pagano led the team to another surprise win 23-20 over visitors Miami Dolphins at the capacity-filled Oil Lucas stadium on Sunday (Nov. 04).
It was first appearance on the field by the ambitious Chuck since he was diagnosed with Leukaemia last month.
Luck threw for 433 yards, just breaking formerly held record of 432 yards. His performance also made him the only rookie in the field to have produced more 300-yard games in the same season.
The significant point of his performance was that he led the team to recover from 13-17 at one point to finish the game at 23. He scored two touchdowns but all commentators have highlighted the record-breaking yardage that measured Colts’ win, which appeared
to be an easy victory at the end.
It was a remarkable occasion for ill coach Chuck Pagano to witness the game. Although Colts owner Jim Irsay had hinted that Pagano might surprise all by showing up on the ground, both of them might have not expected such a result awaiting him.
Pagano said:
"I mentioned before the game that you guys were living in a vision, and you weren't living in circumstances. You know where they had us in the beginning, every last one of them. But you refused to live in circumstances and you decided consciously as a team
and as a family to live in a vision, and that's why you bring things home like what you bring home today. That's why you're already champions and well on your way."
The game marked many significant occasions. For example, it was first opportunity for the top draft QBs out of 2012 to come face-to-face each other. The second QB was Dolphins’ Tannehill. He had been rated alongside Luck on the draft chart earlier this year.
The results of the game showed there is no comparison between the two.
Luck has in many cases outclassed his predecessor Peyton Manning. Irsay can hope now that the win and particularly Luck’s performance gradually help fans to forget Manning and forgive him over preference for the rookie QB over the veteran. Luck’s performance
has proved that Irsay’s decision was worth credibility.
Miami Dolphins’ defence did not have much time to think of a strategy to counter Luck’s unleash. Overall, it was a better display by their offence, which despite some slumps managed to put up some numbers.
