QB Big Ben officially out of Pittsburgh Steelers versus Baltimore Ravens game – NFL News
It is official now that the Baltimore Ravens’ defence should prepare to face quarterback Charlie Batch as Pittsburgh Steelers’ offence leader on Sunday, Dec 02, because the updated injury list of the team shows QB Ben Roethlisberger out of the weekend game.
Ben has suffered a dislocated rib and sprained shoulder injury, which according to his doctor will require him at least three weeks to recover and allow him to return to action. Yet the Steelers, and particularly coach Mike Tomlin, desperately wished and
waited the offence leader’s return happening this week, although it was in contradiction to the realistic situation of the player.
A section of media that had an access to the team’s injury update disclosed that the team has officially listed the quarterback out, eliminating all doubts around his comeback this weekend. It now should be certain next week provided the player’s recovery
stays on the course.
The news is going to fall very hard on the Steelers’ chances of victory against the Ravens this weekend. The team has lost two successive games and now is in a must-win situation. Well, without Ben it is a big question mark on their ability to pull off one
against their American Football Conference (AFC) North rivals.
It is pertinent to note that the Ravens have already sounded to be aggressive and boasted high level of preparedness, irrespective of the question whether they face Big Ben or Charlie Batch on the offensive line.
There were some reservations who should the Raves prepare for: Batch or Ben, because both players have different skill sets. While Ben is younger and generates more pace and power, Batch is an old time-and-again tested horse. He has already led the team
to two consecutive losses, although he boasts that the Steelers are not that dependent on Big Ben.
With ousting of Ben for the weekend, the Ravens might find it easier to walk over the Steelers and qualify for the playoffs conveniently. A loss should also add to difficulties of the Steelers because their other main rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals, have
already edged past them, and appear to further consolidate their lead on the weekend. A win is must for the Steelers.
