QB Colt McCoy wishes for longer stint with Cleveland Browns– NFL News
Cleveland Browns’ quarterback, Colt McCoy, says he likes consistency and stability in his career but admitted his helplessness in turning the entire situation in his favour.
While throwing a light on his National Football League (NFL) career, he said he has enjoyed its early part but now increasingly becoming aware of the difficulties and challenges it brings with it with the passage of time.
Colt said:
"It's been a rough ride thus far. We've had our ups and downs. I've had three (offensive) coordinators going into my third year. Two head coaches in two years.”
Apparently, the incumbent is not happy over the talk of his trade to elsewhere in the league. He said he likes Cleveland and would like to extend his stay but conceded he does not have control over many things.
The QB added:
"There's been some ups and downs and things you have to fight through. Most are things out of your control. But for me, I would just like a little consistency. I love the town. I love the fans. I think they truly deserve a winning football team. That's what
I want to do. I want to be there for the ride of turning that thing around. We'll see what happens."
Although it is not firm and final yet that Browns will part ways with the incumbent under a trade or any other arrangement, recent developments have shown it to be the greatest possibility.
Browns are projecting rookie, Brandon Weeden, to be their starter next season and Seneca Wallace seems right fit for the backup position. This leaves Colt without his natural starting position, while playing as backup has never been an option for him, with
Browns at least.
He has already spoken of his determination to fight for the starting position rather than surrendering it to the rookie but he will not have an option to challenge the management’s move, if they decide to trade him any time during the season.
There is a possibility that Browns wait for some time to see how the rookie goes about the starting challenge and if he fails, McCoy will be their only option.
