QB Joe Flacco crucial to Baltimore Ravens’ victory vs Pittsburgh Steelers – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens are extensively relying on their offence leader quarterback Joe Flacco and he is expected to be the main difference between their and Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive lines in their matchup this Sunday (Nov. 18).
Although Flacco has not been reckon within the class of elite quarterbacks in the National Football League (NFL), his performance reflects on all the qualities an elite quarterback possesses.
He has speed, power, velocity and accuracy, which can be essential characteristics of any successful offence leader. He is nevertheless not concerned about the matter of him being not recognised in the lot of elite quarterbacks.
Since arrival of Jim Caldwell as a quarterbacks coach in Baltimore, Flacco appears to be a completely transformed player and his numbers reflect on the improvement level he has secured under supervision of the new coach.
Most importantly, he has won words of endorsement from head coach John Harbaugh. He says of the offence leader:
"We've always said we think the world of Joe. I personally hold him in the highest regard. We all believe in him, and we're excited to go into this game with him as our guy."
In spite of some record performances this season, Flacco has remained down to earth and said to be not satisfied with what he has done or achieved so far.
According to him:
"I haven't played too long yet, but you want to show up for your teammates every Sunday. You do everything to make sure that happens."
The highest point of his career, according to Flacco, was his game in the playoffs of 2010 when the Ravens were able to beat the New England Patriots.
He recalls:
“The toughest was back whenever we beat New England in that (January 2010) playoff game. I never thought I wasn't going to go, but I definitely had a tough time moving around that week."
It is yet another challenge for him to face off the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend. Although the Ravens have an edge over the Steelers courtesy of the clean-sweep of last season, the Steelers are a side that can pose a stiff challenge to the visitors any
time.
