QB Joe Flacco leads Baltimore Ravens to win over Cleveland Browns in sluggish effort – NFL Recap
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who leads 10-0 record against the Cleveland Browns, produced another thriller to lead his side to another victory, 25-15, in a total American Football Conference (AFC) North showdown on Sunday (Nov. 04).
However, the Ravens failed to produce an overall impressive show against the side that is struggling at all positions with so many rookies in the squad and little experience to help them out.
Irrespective of the question whether the final score could have been different on the table, coach John Harbaugh acknowledged they had to work hard during the past week, although the win did not come that easy at all.
He said:
"We had lots to work on last week; we're going to have lots to work on next week. We are going to try to become a great football team. We're not there by any stretch. We have a chance to get there if we all come together and do the things we need to get
there."
Offence leader Flacco described the situation to be more frustrating for them, and said:
"I think all of us were probably frustrated a little bit there. We weren't able to move the ball. We weren't converting on third down. It's how well you deal with the frustration and go back out there and pick yourself back up. I always say we are tough
physically."
It nevertheless was a welcome win for the team and has further consolidated their position in the division. The Ravens are leading the division so far while Pittsburgh Steelers are struggling on their end to catch up.
Flacco has been star of their performance so far, and he again proved on past Sunday how good he can be when needed the most. His revival is described as rather timely, given the Ravens have been affected at their traditionally strong defensive line.
Meanwhile, it was again a poor display of skills by Browns’ both – the defensive and offensive lines. Although quarterback Brandon Weedon tried to rescue them, he has so far not produced a match-winning performance. So relying on one player could not be
possible for the team, anyway.
Coach Pat Shurmur did not have much to say in his post-game media conference except for repeating some of their mistakes and an idea how they could have done better.
With the passage of time and pouring of defeats at a regular interval, a question mark about prospects of the coach and some other team officials has started appearing clear and bigger.
