QB Matt Schaub leads undefeated Houston Texans from front – NFL News
Quarterback Matt Schaub was star of yet another strong show put up by the Houston Texans versus Tennessee Titans on Sunday (September 30) to go undefeated and lead the American Football Conference (AFC) South division 4-0.
Schaub did not appear to be a player who had missed most part of the last season with a foot injury. He with 202 yards on completion of 20 out 28 passes was as impressive in the Titans’ game as he had been throughout this season.
In the four games the QB has played so far this season, he has managed to complete 83 out of total 124 passes for 953 yards. Also, his preseason performance was impressive as he gained 374 yards on completion of 29 out 38 passes. His pace and power are still
unmatchable by any other QB in the league.
His pass completion for the season is 66.9 percent while in the preseason he had rather impressive completion rate of 76.3 percent. He still has got many more games left to play for the season and can certainly make the record far better.
The veteran offence leader, who could not be a part of the team’s glorious run and finish last season due to the injury, has been enjoying run offence this season. His performance to an extent is helped by the players at other offensive positions including
running back Arian Foster and wide receiver Andre Johnson. It is also his superb performance that compensated them to a certain extent.
Schaub was forced to the sidelines in the 2011 season while the Texans were led by then rookie QB T.J. Yates to the playoffs after claiming the American Football Conference (AFC) South division title for the first time in the franchise history.
Now with Schaub back in charge of the offence, the team has continued its success run this season. It is rather encouraging for coach Gary Kubiak that the QB is able to lead the team as Super Bowl contenders impressively so far.
The team under reign of Schaub has beaten the Denver Broncos and other competitive teams, proving their capability to match higher standards and demands of this season.
