QB Matt Schaub upbeat about his, Houston Texans success chances this season – NFL News
Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is upbeat about his fitness and form level and so about the team’s chances to move further from previous year’s level of achievement this season.
Matt unfortunately spent most part of the past season on the sidelines recovering from a foot surgery and missed the action of his team reaching the playoffs for the first time.
He is raring to make up for the loss of past season’s time and has boasted about the higher level of confidence and the team’s success prospects.
The QB said:
“I’m very hungry. I’ve been chomping at the bit to get this season going since the spring. I’m so excited about what we bring to the table and what we’re capable of doing. We understand the job we have to get done.”
He added:
"Going into the season, I feel as good physically as I ever have. With the weapons we have - the way the offence is moving and how good the defence is - we're as good as we've been going into Week 1. I feel really confident about where we're headed."
This season going to be a rather fresh start for the player, irrespective of the fact that he has spent almost six years with the Texans, given the team for the first time have become Super Bowl contenders.
Away from Matt’s boasts, the team has set hopes on him performing wonders this year, which he is well capable of. Although Schaub has proven his skills as the team’s offence leader time and again, he is not weighed among the elite quarterbacks in the league.
His form is even more crucial this season than ever before and he should be hailed as a hero by helping the side through to the American Football Conference (AFC) championship game just like T.J. Yates was appreciated for taking the team to playoffs for the first time last season.
Yates’ performance has, as a matter of fact, set higher benchmark for the veteran and he must prove himself to be a better performer.
