QB Peyton Manning is clear in his intentions: he will play football again – NFL Feature - Part One
Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback (QB), Peyton Manning, has cleared clouds over his football future. He is clear in his intentions that he will play football for more seasons to come no matter what may it comes.
To express this he has adopted a different type of method, unlike his employer, Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, who has become as much vocal to clear the situation around his relationship with Manning as was his former vice president, Bill Polian.
Manning in the meantime has opted a different method to convey his message. That method is his work. He is reported to be doing workout on his recovery at Duke University along with another player.
The cover was blown up by an excited rookie, who in his tweets boasted about working out next to the four times Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the University’s training facility.
His tweets were later picked up by the media who highlighted the significance of his workout, to much surprise of his employer, Irsay, who might not be as much hopeful about his recovery until very recently.
He, at least, has given the player’s health to be a reason behind the delay for his mind making about the future of the QB.
The player through his workout has proved yet again that he will not be a history at all costs. No matter, even if he is let go by his team, Colts, which according his desire, is his foremost reason for his comeback, and who else he could prove the point
than Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, who in between the lines has seemed to be discarding the player as a used up card.
This is something that Irsay could have been aware of since Peyton doctors allowed him to intensify his workout in the later part of the 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season. It is a different thing altogether to concede to its worthiness,
though.
Irrespective to what Irsay might have been thinking, the player had then proved by showing up at a practice session of the team and taking snaps along with his teammates that he is ambitious to play again.
His former coach, Jim Caldwell was aware of the reality. One of his teammates, who received his throws during the practice session, had, as a matter fact, spoken out about the fitness level of Peyton Manning, and called his throws to be good enough to make
him eligible for a comeback at some point later in the past season.
None of his former managers and the owner was convinced and they immediately thrown him out to work on his recovery through individual workout.
This snub apparently did not affect his confidence and hopes of recovery, and he continued working on his comeback openly and behind the scenes.
His hard work on his recovery has been endorsed by his younger brother, Eli Manning, father, Archie Manning and some close friends and teammates.
They all were and are hopeful that Manning will play football again. When? they do not know. This does not mean either that he has too far to go before staging a come back.
Although, there is no final word on his recovery, he is expected to be back sometimes before the start of next NFL season, which begins in September this year (2012).
So, all being cleared and set for him to play again, the question is whether Colts will have him back, or want to have him back?
