QB Peyton Manning’s possible move to elsewhere on NFL to focus playing, not money – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback (QB), Peyton Manning, who is increasingly becoming an unlikelihood for his team, is reported to be more focused on seeking an opportunity to play football for more seasons to come and not being much concerned about bargaining
on terms of his deal with any other team, which he is likely to join after his possible release by Colts.
Nothing has been said by the player’s agent, Tom Condon, on his prospects and details of his possible deal options, some reports have laid the claims that the QB is determined to be more flexible in his approach towards his contractual bindings with any
outfit in the future.
Peyton Manning is still a Colts, as claimed by the owner, Jim Irsay; there is a possibility that his stay at the Indianapolis has already over, and in that case the player will be seeking to move to any other team around the National Football League (NFL).
A couple of them, the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins, have expressed their interests, respectively, in the signing of the player after he is cut lose by Colts, and Manning’s recent statement of flexibility in negotiation of his deal terms will be very
encouraging to them and other possible suitors awaiting him.
Reports claim that the player has shown willingness to drop his demands such as guaranteed money or upfront payments to provide his potential employers with options and opportunities to fit well in the deal.
Apparently, the focus of the player is to return to play the game at all costs and the issue of money is not a major concern for him, initially.
Peyton has missed the entire 2011 National Football League (NFL) season due to his neck injury and there is a question mark on his recovery and return to the game. His possibility of continuing playing for Colts is even more doubtful.
If he is released by Colts, he will become free agency, open to signing by any team from the league. A number of teams, besides the Jets and Dolphins, are willing to induct the player into their side. He might not be a long-term solution for them at the
end.
With apparent willingness and openness of the player on his deal options he is expected to be quickly picked off Colts’ waiver, and this is what he is aiming his talks of flexibility at.
It is yet to be confirmed the latest status of his injury. The problem is that Peyton has had three surgeries for the same injury in last 19 months and there is a concern that he might not be able to recover to his previous strength.
His doctor has so far assured him of full recovery and being able to play football.
