QB Tim Tebow likely in Jacksonville Jaguars rebuilding priorities – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have ended the 2012 season the way the Indianapolis Colts did the 2011 season – with two wins and massive fourteen losses (2-14), and now there is a question whether they will be as lucky as the Colts as far as their rebuilding is
concerned.
Following their miserable ending of 2-14, the Colts were lucky to qualify for top-notch rookie quarterback Andrew Luck in the 2012 draft. He has led them now to the playoffs, rebounding strongly on the two wins of the past season.
Irrespective of the pending equation of the 2013 draft or whether the Jags luckily can be eligible for as talented QB as Luck, they hold an outright chance to attract a top-class offence leader – QB Tim Tebow.
Tebow has wasted the entire 2012 season as a backup QB with the New York Jets and there are rumours that the Jags are trying to tempt the player back to his hometown – Jacksonville. Jags owner Shahid Khan had denied these rumours earlier in the season but
Tebow himself did not offer any comments.
It is to note now that the situation is best for both sides to take forward the interest, to possibly give it some sort of an informal or a formal deal shape. There were some reports that Tebow is insisting on seeking a trade from the Jets to another team,
and although both stakeholders have not named that team, it could be the Jaguars.
Analysts see this deal appearing realistic for both sides. Since Tebow was not let to flow and flourish into his natural talent as an offence leader by the Jets, his arrival with the Jags – a team that is about to pursue rebuilding seriously – will help
him regain his lost glory.
Also, the Jags have tried draft QB Blaine Gabbert for two years in spite of his consistent failings and will definitely seek to release him and replace with a better quarterback. Tebow suits the best in the slot.
With all the possibilities and scenarios, a green signal apparently is awaited from both sides, but a more welcome effort is needed from Shahid Khan. He holds the key of possible financial commitments and once he is willing to offer something attractive,
Tebow will have the option of responding to it.
