QB Vince Young aims to utilise Buffalo Bills one-year deal to amend six-year inconsistent career
Buffalo Bills’ new quarterback, Vince Young, has spoken of his ambitions of focusing his game rather than indulging into some outside attention-seeking activities, as he aims to be serious in efforts to amend the damage done to his six-year National Football
League (NFL) career, marked with frequent ups and downs.
Young said this while talking to reporters for the first time since arriving in Buffalo on a year deal with the team.
In 2011, the player was caught off guard while throwing the ‘Dream Team’ comments frequently during his stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, who had started the season with a dreadful form and could not make it to the playoffs.
He was reprimanded constantly over the comment before he finally shunned it, which in any case was an unnecessary thing to do.
Now he concedes to the negative outfall of the stupidity and is firm to avoid it in the future. He said:
"I wouldn't definitely want to make that comment again. It was definitely blown out of proportion."
Also, the QB said that he will be focusing on his game and performance with an objective of helping Bills win, and staying away from any outside activity that could damage his reputation.
Young said he will have a flexible approach towards his role in the team’s quarterback situation and adapt to the situations, which can possibly arise out of any shift in the offence arrangement.
He said:
"It's a great opportunity to be here. All you can do is come in and work. This league is crazy from injuries, all kind of things. I'm not wishing that on (Fitzpatrick). He's our starting quarterback and I'm behind him 100 percent."
He looked to be certain about rebuilding his career, which is stretched over six years but lacks any remarkable or memorable achievement.
According to Young, he will utilise the one-year contract with Bills to prove his talent and game credentials. He said:
"It's a great opportunity to be here. All you can do is come in and work. This league is crazy from injuries, all kind of things. I'm not wishing that on (Fitzpatrick). He's our starting quarterback and I'm behind him 100 percent."
Bills, who are struggling to maintain a healthy record in the league, are hoping he comes up to their expectations.
