QB play in CFL?

I love the CFL but am getting a little concerned about the game. Attendence and interest seems to be at it's highest in years, but the league really needs to beef up the QB position overall. I remember when it seemed every team had a great QB. Saw alot of Argos games this year and the number of 3 plays and punts was ridiculous.

Either QB's are not as good or Defences are getting too good overall.

I think that most teams have a solid starting quarterback, but with injuries to just about every starter last season, there was a huge decline in the quality of play when the backups took over.  You'd think that in an 8-team league, there'd be more than 8 quality QBs to go around, especially when the Stamps had Henry Burris and Dave Dickinson backing up Jeff Garcia 10 years ago.  The BC Lions seemed to be the only team with good QB depth last year, and they had the same coach/GM as the '98 Stamps did in Wally Buono.  Clearly, Wally knows how to scout QBs; the rest of the league just needs to catch up.

i also saw a fewa rgos games this year and in years before...bishop just isnt that good so its not all that unbelievable that he had a bunch of 2 and outs

i dont think its an issue, itll probably strighten itself out soon enough

A great team is not made from QB.  Look at the Eskimos.  Ray is probably the best QB in the league and Edmonton can't afford to put a quality team around him thanks to a stricter salary cap.

The has been a resurgence in popularity, which is great. The QB position needs marketability and that comes with time...there seems to be a transition in that skill position and some of the "younger" names will emerge as the stars of next season. The league cannot do much more to ope the offenses up, so look at it as a bridge to the next generation emerging as key players.
