Face it, Lockyer will retire eventually, then what would QLD do for the 5/8 position? Is placing Hunt in the jersey this year a glimpse of what might happpen in the future for not only QLD origin but for the Broncos as well? Would the QLD side be better off placing Inglis at 5/8 (at least he has had some experience in the position).

  1. Petrol @ 70 cents a litre!

  2. Wouldn't it be good if NSW & QLD played off based upon their State competitions, eg, based on which State you play in, or the NSW Metro side against the Brisbane Metro side.

  3. Lockyer will be our 5/8 for a few years yet.  By the time he wants to retire, it won't be any present day player that takes his place.

There is a young 5/8 in the wings, tucked away somewhere in Queensland that will be the successor, at the moment he's probably 14 years old or something.  Locky will be taking guard until then.

    Cheers

    Bronco

  4. Travis Burns, The way he plays is the definition of State of origin football.

  5. hunt has played 5/8 at NRL level enough times to be good enough.

He was ALWAYS a 5/8, hes only playing fullback because of lockyer

  6. Not sure what a couple of these guys are talking about. Im a huge broncos fan but dont know if hunt is the best choice for 5/8 either for qld or the bronx. As far as im aware hunt has only played 1 game for the bronx as starting 5/8 and no rep at all. In the future, maybe Gerard Beale, He plays for the bronx  under 20's side and is killer. He will prob be in the team next year. During origin i wouldnt be surprised to see inglis move to 5/8, folau to the centres, and either slater or hunt on the wing.

  7. Karmichael seems to be the likely choice, given he's only 21.  A good decision to have him there for next week.

  8. Expect Inglis to play  5/8 for qld this year...I expect at the very least hunt will defend on the wing..if not hes in for a world of hurt!

  9. Inglis or Hunt, though they are the two best fullbacks in our game.

And don't say 'how is Inglis the best fullback if Slater is Storm fullback?' Cause you are retarded. Inglis is a FAR better fullback than Slater, and the only reason he is playing 5/8 is cause he has to. Slater can't play anywhere else apart from fullback and wing, Inglis can play anywhere through 1-7 and be good enough to make Australian team, regardless of the competition. He could probably make he team at 9 or 13 too.
