The midfielder claims that his new club have become quite popular in homeland, after he agreed to join them.
Ji-Sung Park’s popularity in his native South Korea was one of the main reasons why Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven all those years ago.
While his ability was undoubted, the move also made sense on the marketing side and United recouped all of their money, with the attacker also going on to create his own legacy at Old Trafford.
However game time for him at the helm became severely restricted with new recruits being shown preference.
Although the Red Devils offered him a new deal, Park’s main concern was to play on a regular basis, because of which he left the club in search of greener pastures and eventually signed for QPR.
Mark Hughes impressed the former Korean captain with his plans and ambition to rise up in the Premier League, something which obviously appealed to him.
Now also in contention for the captaincy at Loftus Road, he is already making the airwaves before kicking a ball and claims that his popularity  back home has raised the profile of the club in Asia.
“In Korea they didn’t know much about QPR. They only focus on Korean players playing for clubs like Man United, Sunderland, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Bolton. But after the last few days a lot of people in Korea now know about QPR and they’re famous. The media in Korea
now talk a lot about QPR.”
He also revealed that teams from the Far-East were willing to offer him much more lucrative contracts, but he wanted to play at the highest level of European Football.
“They offered more money than QPR but for me Europe is still the best place to play so I wanted that challenge,” Park was quoted as saying.
QPR barely managed to escape relegation last season, but this time around will be much more confident of gaining a mid-table place after spending hefty amounts on new targets.
The club eventually wants to contend in Europe, but that dream for now remains a little farfetched.
