What's good 100m dash for a middle school sprinter?

How about 200m?

Also, do you have any tips on running faster in sprints? How should I train.

  1. What the guy above said sounded realistic except I don't belive any 8 grader could be running 11 second times....

Qualifying times to get on the Olympic team starts from around 10.28 seconds.

So if an eighth grader is running 1 second off men who are almost double their age, have dedicated their life to running and are on the best supplements and diet available id say that kid would break Usain Bolts record no problem because thats unreal for a young kid.   Unless they had some growth disorder in which they looked like an adult...

  2. I can do the 100m in less than 12-13 seconds. Today was my first day in high school so I guess you could say that I'm still kinda middle school. ;]

200m should maybe be 25 seconds for middle school. Maybe a little over double your 100m time. Mine is a little faster but for you I think that would be a little better than average.

  3. in 7th grade I ran a 26.2 200m

    in 8th grade I ran a 24.6 200m..I guess that's pretty good..low 24-high 23's would be amazing in my opinion

As i got older i started running longer distances..

  4. gr7-8..... anywhere from 13.75 to 11.5, average is usually high 13s-low 14s

    gr9-10......from 13.5-11.5, average is usually 13.5s-high12s

    gr 11-12.......from 13 - 11.25ish, average is 12.6-12.9, to make finals its 12.6-12.5

good performances for all these age groups is around 12.5 something, without heavy or longterm practice. great performances for all these age groups would be under 12, so 11.something. I have seen some 11.5s and 11.25s even in gr 8s.
