I'm writing a story about a very beautiful paintress named Jamie that had a homebirth with her son. Jamie is a slender girl and her height is 5'10'' and her son is very big. How much weight did Jamie's son had when he was born at home?

THANK YOU!!!

  1. well, your previous question was about how long the labour would last for a home birth. So, lets look at the facts, if it is a homebirth and she is going to have a BIG baby - then she will most likely have complications and can tear pretty badly which will most definately need stitches so that would result in being taken to the hospital. So if you dont want her to go to hospital but go through a pretty traumatic experience (which I'm getting is the idea you have) then I would say 7 1/2 - 8 pounds maximum - any bigger would be a bit extreme.

To make it more traumatic maybe something like bubs was going to come out head up and the midwife had to try to turn her over. or even if you want the long labour like in your last question - make bubs in breech position to start off with (bum first) and the midwife didnt know if the baby would turn in time and the mother had to have warm baths and the midwife just kept massaging her belly until bubs finally turned the right way.

I dunno - be creative but not too extreme!

  2. If she is slender, then an eight pounds baby is big.

  3. a big baby is about 8 or 9 pounds, maybe 10.

i have heard of babys being even bigger, like 12lbs but thats really uncommon. i would say about 9 pounds is best to sound realistic.
