What part of Florida do you live in and what is the pay like where you live? I'm asking b/c I am getting my Assoc. in Rad Tech & am thinking about moving to Florida, but I heard the pay is low there. Is it enough to pay rent, car insurance, gas, etc. Thanks

  1. I'm not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert's tips over there.http://car-insurance.bestips.info/car-in...

  2. Hi Ashley...

I totally understand your concerns!!  My fiance and I just moved here from Southern MD and the pay is very much different down here.  However, in doing our homework before making the big move, we discovered so many areas in which the cost of living is so much less down here, that it truly offsets the difference in pay.  I took a $1.50 / hr pay cut by accepting a job down here, but let me tell you...it's my absolute dream job!!  So, shhhhhhhhhsh...don't tell...I would've taken even less!! LOL  When you get your Rad Tech, and you're applying online for jobs down here...don't forget to ask for things like sign-on bonuses & relocation assistance.  I got a nice reloc.assist bonus.  We are actually paying $700 less per month, for a home in Harmony that is exactly two times as large (square-footage-wise) as the home we leased in S.MD.  Also, gas down here...this evening we paid $3.69 / gallon.  Up in MD, we were paying right at 4 bucks/gallon when we left there a few weeks ago.  Also, the people down here are very nice...in Central Florida.  And then in Harmony...well, I can't say enough good about this place.  Living here is a dream...  Everyday we find outselves saying, "I can't believe we actually live here!!"  And we've been here going on 1 month now.  We LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

Feel free to email me any specific questions you may have...  And let me know if you're interested in living in Harmony and working at one of the big hospitals in Orlando...particularly a pediatric one...maybe I can help.
