I'd like to get some feedback for my upcoming interview with former 2-time Heavyweight Champion of the World, Riddick Bowe. Of course I'll ask him about the Holyfield wars, and his kinship with Tyson, and the dreaded "garbage can" incident. . . and maybe even his fights with Golota. . . .but what would YOU like to hear Riddick answer on our RADIO SHOW this Thursday night? All reasonable, intelligent questions will be asked to Mr. Bowe.

  1. I would love to hear why he ducked Lennox Lewis,  was it because Lennox TKO'd him in the Olympics.   I would love for him to be honest because that's the reason.   He struggled with opponents his size or bigger.   He stuggled with Golta, honestly if Golota didn't hit him low in both bouts Golota was winning both easily.   He always fought smaller guys,  Holyfield had the heart but Riddick was just to big.  Why is he still boxing now its an embarrassment.

  2. I would only like to know Bowe's real reason for avoiding Lennox Lewis.  I honestly think Bowe was afraid of Lewis.  Although Lewis stopped Bowe in the second round in the olympic trials I thought Bowe could have continued.

The pros is a totally different story.  It cracks me up to hear people still insist that Bowe would have beaten Lewis had they met in the pros.   Many of these people are die hard American fans who just dont want to give a British fighter much credit.  Some of these same people think Jeff Lacey would actually win a rematch against Joe Calzaghe.

Bowe didnt like to train and was more often than not, out of shape.  Lennox was rarely in less than top shape.   He was FAR more disciplined than Bowe ever was.

I see Lennox Lewis winning by KO in the middle  rounds.  Im just curious to know what  Bowe thinks would have happened.  I wonder if he can even remember Lewis.  His speech took a nose dive after the second Golota fight.  He sounds like he has  a mouth full of marbles.

  3. not to bring this down but i would like to ask him on the dangers of boxing and how to avoid it , the continious abuse after years in gym..... Bowe seems to suffer from slurred speech like many others such as Holyfield, Meldrick Taylor, Ali, Frazier, and countless others in the sport, so i would like to get his take on it.... i was recently considerding sending my own son to take lessons but am scared that he may like it or is really good(like his daddy lol) and continue to train and fight... the question i would ask is what are some provisions or preventive mesasure boxing could take to help boxers avoid such injuries ..... every boxer knows the dangers and thats the price you pay but should boxing be held accountable for the conditions some of the boxers acquire while making a living or do the boxers get paid well for the dangers.... the last thing i would like to know if there if theres an insurance policy available for Boxers who suffer "damage to the brain" while fighting ......... and would Mr Bowe recommend that i send my child for boxing training knowing the dangers ......thank you Eric Morales

  4. I would also love to hear what he thinks about fights against both Lewis and Tyson in their primes.............

I guess I would like to hear if there was a specific incident that caused him to get into boxing or was it just natural curiosity??.........I thought he grew up in a tough neighborhood and i've heard plenty of stories about kids being brought to the local gym by their parents/parent so that they could not only learn to defend themselves but also to keep them out of trouble by giving them something to focus their energy on that is positive instead of negative.

I would also like to know what he thinks the future of the heavyweights holds..........when he was boxing he was pretty much the biggest guy out there during that time........now we've got a new unified champ whose around 6'5 and 235/240 lbs...........and amazingly he's tiny compared to the 7 foot, 300 + pound Valuev..........what does he think of a superheavyweight division??..........or maybe a super cruiserweight/Jr Heavyweight division???

Just thought of another hot button question:

Does he think that the weigh ins for the fighters should occur on the day of the fight instead of the day before???    We've all seen this happen before............I personally remember being scared for Joey Gamache's life when Arturo Gatti knocked him out after gaining a ton of weight between the weigh in and the fight.

  5. what is his view on the proposed tyson - holyfield rubber match & should it happen.

how would he fare (in his prime) against todays crop of belt holders.

what was going through his mind when holyfield knocked him down with that left hook in their rubber match.

how nervous was he when he challenged evander for the title.

if i think of anything else, i'll edit this post.

best of luck with the interview bud.

  6. I wouldnt waste my time even listening to that! Bowe is now a has-been fighter! h**l I dont think he was that great when he was boxing so who cares?!

  7. I'd like to know his opinion of the all time greats. Ali, Louis, Marciano, Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes and how the current crop of fighters stack up against them.

  8. "Unlike most fans, I praised your actions when you dumped the WBC strap in the trash. After all, there were more lucrative fights out there besides Lennox Lewis. If that fight did take place, which round would you have stopped Lewis?"

  9. Yeah the one i would definitely want to hear more about would be the garbage can incident. I would like to know that if he could go back and change it now would he. He must realise he was perceived differently after this incident, obviously a PR stunt that backfired but i would love to hear what he has to say on the matter.

Another one i might ask would be what went through his mind when that lunatic flying fan man hit the ring and his family were right in the middle of the ensuing riot, im sure he has been posed this question a few times before but it would still make for interesting listening.

I will try and tune in to hear the interview.

  10. I'd like to know who got him started in boxing and what age, and how he thinks he would have done against Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis at the top of his game.  Thanks.
