i am doing an assignment on minerals, i have chosen to do iron ore.

i need to find : importance to the state or national economy of that product

location and nature of production e.g. vertical integration, stages of production, flow charts

business activities of firms related to the industry.

markets for the product, changes in recent years

environmental impact of mining - probs and solutions

role of government in the industry

conclusion- outlook to the future

The world's largest producer of iron ore is the Brazilian mining corporation Vale, followed by Anglo-Australian companies BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto Group and a further Australian supplier, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd.
