I heard something about putting a liquid in a bowl or something..

I have many "under the sink" house cleaners I am willing to use but I have no idea where to start. I need to get this done NOW!

Please help me I'm sure most of you have encountered this problem.

  1. You can buy every insect killer and every fruit fly trap under the sun, but if you don't get rid of the evil thing that is attracting them, they'll breed faster than you can kill them.

Get rid of any fruit or vegetable that is sitting out in your house. If the flies are still a problem after a couple of days, the culprit is probably something old and very, very ripe.

I had the problem and swatted, sprayed and trapped until I discovered a couple of (very) old potatoes in a container in the back of a pantry. I had totally forgotten they were there. Suffice to say, the discovery was nauseating, but after getting rid of them, within 2 days all the fruit flies were gone.

Search the backwoods of your kitchen or wherever they seem to be congregating the most. Sometimes things get pushed to the back, covered by something else and forgotten.

  2. Vinegar in a little dish. That helps a bit. And sometimes, if there are a lot in the kitchen, I grab the vacuum and ambush them while they're flying.

  3. put them in a bag.. freezer to be excact

  4. Large animal vets sell something called Dairy Mist II and it's very effective against flying insects, and a can of it will last you about a month and a half even if you put in one of those auto sprayer things.  I just use it when I need it instead of the auto mister thing, and I've had the same can for about 6 years now.
