Qatar Racing Limited‘s New Pearl eyes the prize in the Coventry Stakes at Ascot
New Pearl and The Taj will have to battle for glory in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Ascot on 19th June, 2012, where the stamina of these runners will be tested over the six furlong course.
It is a chance to see which one of these runners is motivated enough to take home the purse of £48,204.
New Pearl, is trained by David Brown for owner Qatar Racing Limited, will be competing in the third start of his career, and with two solid finishes in his previous starts, it is possible that the grey colt will easily ace this race as well.
The son of Acclamation, out of mare New Deal, comes from a great pedigree and has inherited the skills of his parents.
He demonstrated his skill in his maiden race, when he landed a victory over David Simcock trained, Emirates Echo, by a margin of 4 ½ lengths in the five furlong Makfi Future Stars Maiden Stakes on 6thMay, 2012.
The two-year-old colt raced as a favourite in the six furlong Diamond Jubilee Youngsters Conditions Stakes at Pontefract on 1st June, 2012, but finished second to the Kevin Ryan trained, Indian Jade, by 1 ½ lengths.
The Richard Hannon trained, The Taj, is the rising star of his stable, and proved himself with a victory in his maiden when he competed in the Yorkshire Radio Supporting Yorkshire Racing Maiden Stakes at Doncaster on 8th June,
2012.
The runner bolted through the six furlong track under the command of capable rider, Paul Hanagan.
Together, the duo crushed the competition and claimed the victory by 2 ¼ lengths over Marco Botti trained, Hasopop.
Today, he will break out of post 23 under rider, Paul Hanagan again, who will possibly guide him to the second consecutive victory of his career.
Between these two runners, there is a possibility that New Pearl will succeed and emerge victorious. The colt has an advantage of one more start than The Taj, which works in his favour.
He has to bring all he has to the trac,k since every runner on the track will be aiming to down the race.
