Qeustioning Benitez selection/tactics?

Question

Sticking Dirk Kuyt on the right was a mistake we HAD to live with. But come on, put Ryan Babel there... We also have Pennant. Why is he not playing? He's probaly the best wide player we have along with Babel.

And then there's the transfer where Alonso was going to go to Juventus or Arsenal and we was going to buy Barry.

Who in there right mind would get rid of Alonso for Barry?

What in the h**l made him think selling Alonso to Arsenal was a good idea?

And the rest.....

Robbie Keane on the left wing?

Torres just had to come off injured... We're looking to pinch a goal, so why bring on a novice = Ngog and not Babel?

We have the players but he doesn't seem to have a clue on what he's doing.

And who's left to complain when we aint winning or playing games like we should.. Benitez.

IMO... 4/5 years have gone by and in not one of they seasons have we looked like a Championship winning side.

Yes, I am beginning to wonder exactly what he is doing.  I think in a lot of games, he is very negative, and this does not help when you are gunning to win the Premiership.  Playing for a 0-0 might be all well and good in Europe, when games require containment, but in the Premier League, it is 2 points dropped and that can make all the difference.  You need to actually WIN matches instead of playing 'not to lose.'  Ever since the assistant manager left last season, Benitez has been found out tactically and has offered an array of increasingly bizarre tactical decisions.  I think he is still living off winning the Champions League in his maiden season.  Just like the previous response said, Liverpool haven't looked like domestic champions in 5 years of his tenure.

True. Rafa likes to buy strikers and converts them to wingers with mediocre results of course.

He's spent a lot of money, Torres was a great signing, but no great cover for him when he needs a rest or gets injured.

Tactics confusing the players as well as the audience, needs to simplify things for everyone, eg Left footed player on left

Good squad but to improve he should buy 1-2 world-class players every year, and not average players like Dossena, Degen, Aurelio e.t.c.

Kuyt has the nack in euro comp.s. and the Spaniard has a philosophy all his own,tragic about Torres,now Keane HAS to come of age quickly.

If only more Liverpool fans would criticise the madmans tactics then perhaps there could be progress.
