Qin Kai clinches the Men’s 3m springboard title - 2011 FINA Diving Grand Prix
Qin Kai of China took home the Men’s 3m springboard title with a total score of 508.50 at the 2011 FINA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale this week.
Kai was immensely pleased and excited by his performance after winning the 3m springboard meet. Meanwhile, He Chong of China took home the silver medal with a competitive score of 487.05 and Troy Dumais of the United States of America wound up third with
480.10 points in the respective meet.
Qin Kai is a renowned diver of China in the world today, as he is not only the Olympic champion but also the world champion at the moment.
As far as the medal tally is concerned, Kai has won more than enough medals in the competitive diving events in the universe so far.
One of the biggest hallmarks of Kai was his Olympic gold medal in the Men’s 3m springboard synchro in 2008 at Beijing.
Besides, he picked the two gold medals in the Men’s 3m springboard synchro in the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne.
Furthermore, Kai took home the two golden crowns in the Men’s 1m and 3m springboard synchro events in the 2009 World Championships in Rome. He won the silver medal in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
Currently, Qin Kai has been preparing hard for the upcoming FINA World Championships in Shanghai. Additionally, he has also determined his target for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
In the Men’s 10m platform final, Huo Liang of China picked up the top seed with a sterling score of 540.15, while his team-mate Qiu Bo nabbed the silver title with a total score of 524.55 and Oleksandr Bondar of Ukraine finished third with 515.10 points
in the following meet.
When it came to the Men’s 3m springboard synchro, it was captured by the two famous Chinese divers Qin Kai and Yutong Luo with a stunning score of 447.42. On the other side, Troy Dumais and Kristian Ipsen of the USA placed second with a total score of 421.98
and Sho Sakai and Yu Okamoto of Japan rounded out the top three in 390.66.
Last, but not the least, the Men’s 10m platform synchro was taken over by Qiu Bo and Huo Liang of China with a total score of 456.27. German Sanchez and Ivan Garcia of Mexico wound up second with a 444.81 and David Boudia and Nick McCrory of the USA settled
third with a total score of 438.51 in the respective meet.
Both Bo and Liang were extremely excited and thrilled by their overall performances in the 10m platform synchro final at Fort Lauderdale today.
