Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday to be the next target for Cirrus Des Aigles after the Longchamp
The French horse, Cirrus Des Aigles, has set an objective to race at the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. The five-year-old, out of the Irish Even Top and Taille De Guepe, is being trained by Mme C Barande-Barbe. He has raced nine times this season,
winning four times and claiming the second position four times as well.
The five-year-old French has a persistent record of running thirty-seven times with twelve wins and fifteen second places out of those runs.
He has been ridden by Franck Blondel throughout the season, besides the race on 22nd of May at Longchamp in which he positioned second with Christophe Soumillon
The last that he ran was on the first of this month on a field of eleven horses being represented by an enriched combination of trainers.
Initially raced in fourth then switched outside and quickened to lead inside the final two furlongs, travelled on well under pressure and headed close home, finishing the race second to A Fabre trained Byword who raced that day on Maxime Guyon and claimed
the Longchamp title for himself.
"He's come back very well after his last race. He probably needed it a little and our plan is to go to Ascot”, the trainer told At The Races.
"He's in cracking form. I don't know how the going will be in Ascot, but he goes on every going”.
"In England I have only had one runner - Perfect Vintage. He ran in Ascot. He was quite old when I trained him. He didn't win, but we had a very nice experience”.
The prospect of becoming a part of the Ascot this time has reminded the trainer of her previous experience at the grand event which did not turn out to be a victory with her horse Perfect Vintage but the performance was not at all disappointing.
Barande is all excited for the event to begin as Cirrus Des Aigles has been reported to have been in form and got a chance to rest after the Longchamp this month.
Despite a number of factors running favourable in his way might just become a little less influential when the competition and challenge on the field that day breaks onto the track so he need to get trained and prepared accordingly.
