What makes one pool "faster " than another & whait s considered the ideal water temperature & are they related?

  1. They were talking about this on CBC during the Olympics. I'm a swimmer but I really don't know the answer so I'll just summerize what CBC said.

    1) Temperature: The temperature of the Beijing pool is about 25 degrees.

    2) Depth: It's about 7 feet deep. It's just deep enough to where the waves dissipate and the turbulence dissipates down to the bottom.

    3) Lane width: It's about 2 meters.

    That's all I can remember from what was said on TV.

  2. Just the shape, the way the water flows and the temp should be like 50 or little lower I think.
