Quacity to bag the second success at Ayr through the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Novices’ Handicap Chase on 21st April
The Class 2 Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Novices’ Handicap Chase will be held at Ayr over three miles and a furlong on Saturday, 21st April. The race has attracted a line-up of eleven runners who will contest for the £12,996 purse.
The only entry to have raced extensively at Ayr during and before the season is Quacity, Sagacity’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Desert Show. He strode into the new season with the first two races at Ayr and third being a try at Newcastle. The
second outing of the season resulted in a victory.
Quacity’s seasonal debut was in the Watch Live Racing At Victorchandler.Com Beginners’ Chase at Ayr over two miles and five furlongs on 2nd January. The race was dominated by the 11/10 favourite entry, Dowd’s Destiny, who was coupled with Dougie
Costello for the race.
Settling as the runner up after covering the fourteen lengths’ gap was Circus Clown and was soon followed by Alfred Oats. Finishing fourth behind the winner on the track of five was Quacity.
The eight-year-old did not wait for long to strike a win as he claimed the Watch Live Racing At Betvictor.Com Novices’ Handicap Chase at Ayr over two miles and five furlongs on 6th February.
Riding with Peter Buchanan, Quacity shoved the 6/4 favourite runner up of the race, What A Dream, by five lengths. Settling third behind the winner was Mighty Magnus.
Failing to retain the performance that he displayed in the second start of the season, Quacity got driven down to the fourth position in the Newcastle Flooring Novices’ Handicap Chase on 6th March at Newcastle over three miles.
The race was won by Harris Hawk who put the 5/2 favourite runner up, Night In Milan, at two lengths’ disadvantage.
Concluding the race third, before Quacity, was Definite Appeal.
Today the under charge of Lucinda Russell, Quacity, is racing his fourth race of the new season and the third at Ayr. The fair amount of experience of racing at Ayr specifically through the new season will make Quacity dictate the race today. No other entry
on the line-up is as accomplished when it comes to Ayr however, all the entries are not completely harmless as quite a few have broken into the new season impressively.
