Quade Cooper satisfied with his recovery from knee injury – Rugby News
New Zealand born Australian international Rugby Union backs players, Quade Cooper, has expressed his satisfaction after recovering from a knee injury, which he sustained during Australia’s
2011 Rugby World Cup (RWCE) campaign.  Cooper made these comments in a status update on his official Facebook account on Monday, October 31.
Cooper plays at the fly half position for the Australian national Rugby Union team, commonly known as Wallabies. He sustained an injury to his leg’s Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during
Wallabies 2011 Bronze medal play-off against Wales on Friday, October 21 at Eden Park, Auckland. Wallabies eventually won the game by a margin of three points with a final scorecard reading 21 – 18.
Providing the updates on his knee, Cooper commented, “It’s slowly getting better which is good. The pain is getting less.” Earlier during last week, Wallabies international fly half, Quade
Cooper underwent surgery on Thursday, October 27. It was communicated to the media that the operation went smoothly and the comments made by Cooper confirms the progress he has made thereafter.
However, Cooper is still keeping a full brace on. Providing details he said, “I can move about more freely, one more week in the full brace.” Commenting in his plan of recovery, he confirmed
that following the removal of the full braces at the end of the current week, he will spent two weeks on crutches.
Cooper’s injury will sideline him from Australia’s upcoming tour of United Kingdom. Additionally, he is all set to miss a few games of the 2012 Super Rugby season for the defending champions,
Queensland Reds. He was pivotal to their success in the 2011 Super Rugby season, where he finished the tournament as the highest point scorer.
Reds head coach, Ewen McKenzie, has expressed his disappointment on losing the player of Cooper’s caliber. However, at the same time he termed it as good opportunity for the young players to
demonstrate their skills on the field and play a role in the team’s success.
The injury also allows Cooper to take a break from the game and refresh himself.
