  1. first you wanna subtract 7 from both sides so that the equation is 4x^2+4x-7=0. then you plug the numbers into x= -b+/- the square root of b^2-4ac all over 2a. so -4+/- square root of 4^2-4(4)(-7) all over 2(4). then reduce it all. x= -4 +/- the square root of 16+112 all over 8. and again, reduce, x= -4+/- the square root of 128 all over 8. since the square root of 128 isnt even then you have two answers. x=-4 - the sqaure root of 128 all over 8 and x= -4 + the square root of 128 all over 8. hope this makes sense.

  2. Make it equal to 0

    4x2+4x-7=0

    the A is 4, b is 4 and c is -7

    -4 +- sqrt 4^2-4(4)(-7) / 2(4)

    -4 +- sqrt 16+112 / 8

    Find sqrt of 128

    -4 +- sqrt 128 / 8

    -4 +- 11.31 / 8

    One answer could be:

    -4 + 11.31 = 7.31 / 8=.91375

    The other :

    -4 - 11.31=-15.31 / 8 = -1.91375

Make sure you do both adding and subtracting because the equation is both + and -

I hope you get those steps.

    :)
