The Juventus forward has dismissed any notions of any rift developing following the arrival of big names at the club; and also gave his support to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Di-Natale-c6306.
The 29-year-old reiterated that the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 at the club would not create resentment within the squad. Italian players are not paid on the same scale as most of the English players, and the Van Persie’s arrival at the club would mean that
the Turin club would have to agree to his wage demands.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 striker’s demands are around 7.5 million euros, which would make him the highest paid player the club would have on their roster. The Bianconeri striker was giving an interview to Sky Sport Italia and rubbished any suggestions of resentment and
stated that the world’s best players have their high costs as well. He also went onto state that there was great unity at the club and this would not affect them, and mentioned:
“It’s ridiculous to claim that there could be any kind of jealousy within the ranks. If a great player like Van Persie arrives then it is normal that he is given the right contract. In a compact squad like ours, these things don’t affect us at all.”
Juventus did not feature in the Champions League last season owing to their seventh place in Serie A in the season before, but the Scudetto winners are bringing in players which would let them contest at the highest level in different competitions.
The striker had faith in the decision making at the club and stated that they would do what is best for the club. The Juve player was then asked of his opinion on Antonio Di Natale, and he had nothing but praise for his former teammate.
He mentioned that he preferred Di Natale opening in attack, but the choice was for Prandelli’s to make, and went on to say:
“Di Natale has proved to be our best forward for the last four or five years,” he added. “I think he should be a starter, but obviously that will be up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 Coach Cesare Prandelli to decide.”
Antonio Conte would be hoping to reinforce his side after they went on an unbeaten run in their quest of winning the Scudetto title.
