Quaid e Azam Trophy 2011-12, Division One, 7th Round Update - Part One
Abbottabad defeated Faisalabad by a massive margin of an innings and 37 runs in a 7th round fixture of the Quaid e Azam Trophy 2011-12 Divison One, at the Gohati Cricket Stadium, Swabi.
Discarded Test cricketer and captain of Faisalabad, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naved-Latif-c78900 won the toss on the opening day and decided to bat first; however, it turned out to be a disastrous decision as the whole batting order fell like a house of cards and the
team was dismissed for just 74 runs in the first innings.
Abbottabad’s fast bowler, Ahmed Jamal was the chief destroyer as he claimed six wickets to break the back of Faislabad’s batting.
In return, Abbottabad came up with a solid reply and posted 311 runs on the board, which turned out to be enough for them to clinch the victory by an innings. Faisalabad showed some resistance in the second innings but yet they were dismissed
for 200 runs in their second innings, which by no means was enough to match the brilliance of Abbottabad.
In the second match of the 7th round, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) defeated the defending champions, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) by 133 runs at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The youngest player to have played Test cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-Raza-c62007, won the toss for HBL and opted to bowl first. Because of right-arm medium fast bowler, Sarmad Anwar’s efforts, HBL restricted ZTBL to a mediocre total of 201 runs in the first
innings. The lanky fast bowler picked up six wickets to help his team’s cause.

Out of favour Test leg spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Danish-Kaneria-c1314 picked up five wickets in ZTBL’s second innings.
Chasing a big target in the second innings, HBL was dismissed for 242 runs. Lanky fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rehan-Riaz-c84633 picked up a five-wicket haul to win the match for his team.
