Quaker Birds, Should i get one being 3 years old does bite in cage but not when holding are they a good bird?

  1. One of my 2 Quakers is cage protective.  It is up to you whether or not you can live with a bird who bites its cage bars.  The bird is doing its job, as in the wild it would have to protect any chicks in the nest.  

    My quaker who guards the cage has a big personality anyway but is good outside the cage, lets me preen and play with it, loves to try my food, will even fly off its cage to get me to pick it up and let it see what I am doing.

    Please don't go by what Michellea2b says!  My 2 quakers are the joys of my life and they are the FIRST birds I ever had!  They are fine for novices.  AS with any animal, you have to read and watch body language and I think you are.

  2. yea they have been nown for that.and they have been nown to be pretty good talkers!personaly i love quackers i recomend them to alot of people.there playful,friendly,but can be a little bratty at times.you should get one there realy good pets!
