  1. If he's young and healthy it's not likely he'll get a heart attack. He's just upset that he can't do as he wants. Just tell him you have to go to work and he can come out when you come back home. He'll be fine. You just have to keep in mind who the boss is (you).

  2. he will be fine he is just sensing you about to leave, and is trying to get your attention. Just ignore it and go to work the bird will be fine.

  3. Does your bird have ample toys to keep him entertained in his cage? Do you change them up regularly to he doesn't get bored with the same ones day after day? Is his cage really big enough? Do you spend a ton of time with him when you are at home? (Quakers need a LOT of interaction to stay happy and tame)

If you answered no or maybe to any of those, you need to rethink how you're keeping the bird.

However, if he's got a huge cage, lots of toys you change every week, and you spend most of your waking time with him when you're home, he might just be acting up and not want to be stuck in his cage while you're gone.

You can try leaving a tv or radio on for him to watch/listen to, it might help relieve some of the boredom/stress of being without his "flock" for awhile.

He won't give himself a heart attack just by being upset about being stuck in his cage. Quakers are smart little parrots, he's just doing whatever he can think of to get your attention and hopefully get what he wants. You're goal is to make him happy to be in his cage, so when you do have to leave him, you don't have a bird bored and unhappy.
