  1. I thought,  it was who you know,  not what you know.

  2. It depends on the role...alot of work these days requires qualifications and experience because of the number of people leaving Uni and gaining emloyment that by the time people are 25 there is usually someone with both in the market..

  3. Depends on the job. Some, like accountancy, require qualifications. Others, like sales, don't. What job are you going for?

  4. I would chose experience, as then they could be more suited to the job...it would also mean less training if they had already donme the job somehwere else!

  5. A combination is most desireable .. However, if I had a kid right out of university with a degree thats never been used vs a person who has worked in my industry for years but has no "quals" .. I'd take the experience over the degree.

  6. well, what good are qualifications without any experience? if someone has been doing the job for 10yrs, they may not have any qualifications, but their experience means they can learn, and build on skills they already have... the freshly qualified has no such reserve of knowledge which can be applied...

  7. The one with the experience.

  8. I would probably prefer a bit of both.

  9. People might think qualifications are more important but the truth is in, the medical profession atleast, experience is more important. You just have to llok at the idiotic things medical students do...

  10. I'd personally hire based on experience but these days qualifications are needed 4 almost anything
