Qualified electrician?

im having an electric shower fitted. The ad in the paper states this man is a qualified plumber and electrician. If it were gas ide ask him if he was corgi registered, what do i ask for from an electrician? do they also have some registration. Clearly i dont want my house to go on fire!!!any suggestions?

Water and electricty yeah good combanation. When I was an electrician we weren't even allowed to put electrical lines under water lines so not  good idea. But if you still go through with it ask where he's worked before and get an add and a phone # ask to see his past work and see if the local union knows him or other contractors in the area.
